What if the thing that always made you feel “too much”… was actually your superpower?

I never set out to write a book about highly sensitive people—until I realized I was one. After a lifetime of giving my power away to fat pants, Facebook posts, and unsolicited comments about my muscular arms, I hit my breaking point. And then something beautiful happened: I broke open.

In this raw, irreverent, and often hilarious memoir-meets-manifesto, I reclaim my identity as a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) and declare myself the world’s first Rogue HSP—a new kind of empath who doesn’t just process deeply, but acts boldly.

Why I Wrote This Book

My “why” is simple: because no one ever told me it was okay to be sensitive and strong. For 37 years, I lived under the weight of people-pleasing, perfectionism, and powerlessness.

Every awkward moment, every childhood memory, every self-deprecating laugh was a breadcrumb on the trail to a bigger truth: sensitivity isn’t a flaw to fix. It’s a compass pointing toward your deepest strength.

I wrote this book because I don’t want anyone else to spend decades quietly crumbling under their empathy.

What This Book Tackles (The Pain Points)

  • Feeling crushed by criticism, judgment, or casual cruelty—no matter how “harmless” it seems;
  • The lifelong exhaustion of people-pleasing and perfectionism;
  • Emotional eating, trauma loops, and toxic body shame (yes, even about my arms);
  • Guilt for being “too sensitive,” “too emotional,” or “too much”;
  • The paralyzing fear of standing up for myself—or saying what I really think;
  • Letting social media, manipulative people, or a traumatic past define my self-worth;
  • The shame of staying silent when I knew I deserved better.

If any of that hits home… this book is for you.

The Unique Solution: Re-right Your Past

I don’t believe in simply “reframing” the past. I believe in re-righting it.

That means going back to those tiny (and not-so-tiny) moments where I gave my power away—and giving myself a do-over. Not to erase the memory, but to rewrite the meaning. With empathy. With action. With rogue, rebellious compassion.

At the heart of this book are what I call Power Moves—bold, creative, sometimes ridiculous acts of healing that helped me take my power back on my own terms. Whether it was finally lifting weights in sleeveless tops to reclaim my jacked arms, or using EFT tapping to heal my emotional eating… I did it all for one reason: so I could share it with you.

Each chapter ends with a challenge. A nudge. An invitation to ask yourself: What would it look like to re-right your story?

What Makes This Book Different

This isn’t your typical self-help book. It’s not a cookie-cutter trauma guide.

It’s a vulnerable, unfiltered, and delightfully inappropriate journey through grief, healing, humor, and growth. It’s what happens when Alanis Morissette’s radical empathy meets Brene Brown’s truth-telling and Amy Schumer’s comic timing.

I don’t hold back—like, at all. From being laid off after years in an unfulfilling copywriting job, to riding out years of manipulation that nearly crushed my spirit, to realizing my dog might be a Highly Sensitive Pug…

I share it all.

Not for shock value, but because I know these stories matter. And because I want you to stop apologizing for your sensitivity and start building a powerful life that’s wholly, wildly yours.

Who This Book Is For

This is for anyone who’s ever asked:

  • “Why do I feel things so deeply?”
  • “Why can’t I just let things go?”
  • “Why do I freeze when I want to speak up?”
  • “Why does everyone else seem to handle life better than me?”
  • “Why am I so damn tired all the time?”

Whether you’re a closeted HSP, a recovering people-pleaser, or someone just starting to wake up to the idea that your “too much-ness” might actually be your magic—you’re invited to join me on this funny, fierce, and liberating journey back to yourself.

Because being sensitive isn’t your weakness. It’s your superpower.  And it’s time you used it to change your life. One power move at a time.
